We love our blender. And all things blended (hmm...maybe not all). You may remember this past summer we drank strawberry daiquiris every day. We have recently found two uses for our blender that we love.

First, a fruit smoothie with spinach. I know. Weird, right? I have heard of people doing that before and always thought "no, thank you". But, I decided to try it. And you know what? You can't even taste the spinach and you can hardly tell it is in there.

blend together a banana, a handful of spinach, some frozen berries, a splash of o.j. or milk and yogurt (I like vanilla, but fruit will obviously work).

If you want less of a green blech smoothie, use darker berries like raspberries and blackberries.

And say hello to three servings of fruit/veggies at once!

Our other favorite thing to do with our blender right now is make Orange Dream Shakes

3/4 cup vanilla ice cream
3-5 ice cubes
3/4-1 cup orange juice
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
3 Tbs powdered sugar

Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding enough orange juice to create your preferred thickness. Serves 2.

Such a good idea. I might even get Noah to eat spinach if it includes berries...

Yum! I need to pick up some spinach and fruit and give the smoothie a try. Also the Orange Dream Shakes look amazing.
